Our Wines

Our wines are first hand picked by our growers. We then hand sort and hand punch, then hand de-stem and finally barrel ferment. Quite a workout. We remove barrel heads for open fermentation and then reinsert barrel heads for aging. Lots of hands-on action and we are proud of it. We trust our hands, nose and mind to perform wine making and we think this shows in our product.

*2012 La Chanterelle Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley AVA. It's our inaugural release and simply - mere wantonness. "Perfumed nose with anise and blackberry. Nice roundness on the palate with flavors of cassis, black olive, anise and mocha. Nice richness, indicative of the vintage. Drink 2015-2023. -92" Washington Wine Blog

*2013 La Chanterelle Cabernet Sauvignon, Vahluke Slope AVA - 92pts. Dr. Owen J. Bargreen, International Wine Report: "This wine follows up their highly impressive 2012 Cabernet. Aromatically reticent at first and needing a one hour decent, the wine reveals a bouquet of pencil shavings, anise, black cherry, black olive and oak. There are flavors reminiscent of blackberry preserves, roasted figs, coffee grounds and creme de cassis. Lovely weight and intensity, with a polished texture. This captures the heat of the vintage. *2013 La Chanterelle Syrah, Vahluke Slope AVA - 90pts. Dr. Owen J. Bargreen, International Wine Report: "The 2013 La Chanterelle Syrah is an excellent and balanced effort. Sourced from the Riverbend vineyard, the wine was aged 23 months in oak prior to bottling. Like their Cabernet offering, this needs some time in the decanter to settle. After an hour it unwinds with aromas of black olive, black cherry, and suggestions of wet stone and sage. There are flavors of red cherry, black raspberry, blackberry cobbler, and hints of cassis. Lovely mouthfeel, balance and texture. (Best 2016-2024) - March, 2016 (OB)"
